Woody Harrelson Reveals Shocking Reason He Does Not USE A Cellphone

Woody Harrelson doesn’t want to be a slave to technology by carrying around what he terms as “the appendage on my appendage.” In case you’re wondering what monstrous thing was described as “the appendage,” it’s a cellphone. Woody Harrelson was talking about a cellphone.

So why is he averse to carrying around a cellphone like every other normal person, celebrity and other?

Wow, to think Woody Harrelson has probably never seen all the ‘True Detective’ memes floating around on the internet is crazy.

According to the actor, he hasn’t carried a phone in a long time. Fans learned about this in Harrelson’s recent appearance on the ‘Where Everybody Knows Your Name’ podcast with ‘Cheers’ castmate Ted Danson.

During the show, Danson brought up the topic of Harrelson not owning a cellphone.“Let me explain something about Woody: He doesn’t have a phone,” Danson revealed. “He’s one of those bullies in life that make other people carry his phone for him. ‘Hey, we need to know something immediately, call Woody.’ And I just kinda laugh at whoever says that to me.”

“Well, that’s not exactly true,” Harrelson responded. “I just don’t like to have to be readily available to any human being at any time. And plus, that’s not the reason. I like to be in touch with people, in a way, but I don’t like the appendage on my appendage.”

He then explained that he hasn’t used a cellphone in three and a half years because he felt he was spending too much of his time on it. “I made a thing where I’m like, ‘Okay, I’m gonna set a two-hour limit on my phone,'” he said. “It’s like 9:30. I’ve already hit my limit at 9:30. So I woke up and I’ve been on it two hours already, because you know how it can just keep going and going.”

What’s keeping him so busy on his phone? It’s not the apps, I can tell you that. And it’s not calling people. What he does with all that screen time is simply texting people.

The ”White Men Can’t Jump” star also revealed that he generally doesn’t like the distractions that come with being sucked into the digital world. He’d rather much remain in the non-digital world.
“I admire what you do with phones, by the way, Woody,” Danson said. “I need to emulate that.”
