I think I’m ready to receive my crown as a good prophet or soothsayer or whatever is befitting of my ability to say something and it’ll come to pass because I predicted correctly that this Oscar slap thingy isn’t going anywhere soon, it’ll always be resurrected over one reason or another, now hand my crown dears, hahaha.

Okay, so…i’ll make a quick summary okay? Good. So, after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars in March this year for making a joke of his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head (Jada has alopecia), so many celebrities weighed in on the situation, some were in complete support of Smith for standing up for his wife, celebrities like Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, and co, some other celebrities were completely against Smith for his violent actions, celebrities like Amy Schumer, Zoë Kravitz, etc.

I know you’re wondering why Zoë Kravitz’s own is trending right now, let me explain. After the Oscars Award show, Zoë took to her social media to upload a picture of her outfit at the Oscars and captioned it: “here’s a picture of my dress at the award show where we are apparently assaulting people on stage now.” Later on, Zoë posted another picture of the outfit she wore at the after party of the Oscars and also captioned it: “and here is a picture of my dress at the party after the award show -where we are apparently screaming profanities and assaulting people on stage now.”

So, Zoë ultimately made those sly comments to point out her displeasure over what Smith did at the Oscars, a social media user who wanted to make sure if Zoë was against Smith, asked Zoë if Zoë is against Smith standing up for his wife, Zoë simply replied “nope,” and that response guys, is the beginning of the backlash Zoë faced from fans.

Unlike other celebrities that were against Smith’s actions, Zoë got it hot from social media users. You know the saying “the Internet never forgets?” Well, it’s not exactly a real saying but trust me, it’s the truth, the internet does not forget anything.

Zoë went from being a well loved celebrity to being the most hated celebrity real quick because, fans got mad at her for being a hypocrite. Someone dug up Zoë’s past, where Zoë was hitting on Will Smith’s son Jaden Smith back when Jaden was 14 and Zoë was 24. Some others called Zoë out for being very close friends with Alexander Wang a designer infamous for multiple sexual assaults by different people, they said for one who is friends with a molester, Zoë has no right to judge Smith. Well, the backlash was too much that Zoë quietly deleted the two posts, now she’s back to discuss the issue.

In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, Zoë said she wished she had done things differently, Zoë explained that she has learned that the Internet is a place where you don’t put your opinions, you only put things out “and not take things in” she went on to say that the backlash reminded her that she’s an artist so henceforth, she won’t be putting things out on the internet through “caption or tweet” but “through art.” Zoë said, “I think I’m in a place right now where I don’t want to express myself through a caption or a tweet. I want to express myself through art.”

Zoë’s comments actually sprouted another round of backlash from fans because they came back to point out her unapologetic response, some said that Zoë wasn’t called out initially because she was against Smith’s actions but she was called out because she was a creep who likes teenagers. Someone tweeted “the way most people stopped stanning her not because of the will smith instagram post but because it was revealed that she likes teenagers… so no zoe kravitz it’s not a scary time to have an opinion it’s a scary time to be a WEIRDO.”
