All My Children News – Susan Lucci Reacts To Dating Questions
All My Children star Susan Lucci recently attended the American Heart Association’s Red Dress Collection concert. But her appearance turned into an informal question and answer about dating. Lucci became a widow last year, noted Page Six.
And asked about her interest in dating, the actress revealed she does not feel ready yet. “No, no. I can’t imagine,” summed up Lucci. Susan has mourned since her husband Helmut Huber died at age 84 in March 2022.
Married for 52 years, Helmut and Susan first met at Red Salt Room restaurant at Long Island’s Garden City Hotel in the ’60s. At the time, Lucci worked as a waitress. And Huber served as the executive chef. After tying the knot in September 1969, they welcomed two children.
All My Children News -Susan Lucci Calls Late Husband ‘Hard Act To Follow’
Because only 10 months have passed since Huber died, Susan wants to wait before thinking about romance for a second time. “10 months… it’s not a long time,” she pointed out. “It’s not on my radar. … He was a very hard act to follow.”
However, Lucci does appreciate time with her friends. And she feels grateful for “amazing friends who like to be out and about. And I like to be out and about,” added the All My Children star.
Susan appeared at the American Heart Association’s Red Dress Collection as part of her quest to highlight the importance of health care for women. The actress even walked in the American Heart Association’s celebrity fashion show. Lucci became motivated to take up the cause after undergoing emergency cardiac surgery to implant two stents in 2018.
But Susan recalled that she tried to ignore the pain at the time. And she didn’t know the severity of her situation. “I had a slight pressure on my chest, but I kept ignoring it, as we women do. ‘It’ll go away, it’ll go away.’ But the third time, I couldn’t ignore it,” recalled Lucci.
And after it got to the point where she “felt like an elephant pressing on my chest, the soap star gave in. At St. Francis Hospital, she learned she had a 90 percent blockage in my main artery.” And Lucci also experienced “a 75 percent blockage in the adjacent.”
