Will AMC Alum Cameron Mathison Return To Soaps After Home & Family Cancelled?

Daytime soap spoilers reveal that All My Children alum Cameron Mathison’s (Ryan Lavery) Hallmark series Home & Family is ending in August after its ninth season.

“The 9th and current season of Home & Family will be the series’ last,” a spokesperson for Hallmark Channel told Deadline. The show is hosted by Debbie Matenopoulos and Mathison and shares ideas for home improvements, crafts, parenting tips, lifestyle and health and fitness.

The spokesperson said, “For nearly a decade, the show has anchored our daytime lineup, featuring countless hours of cooking, lifestyle, DIY, health, entertaining, and decorating segments. We want to thank the heart and soul of the show, our incredibly talented cast and crew – led by co-hosts Debbie Matenopoulos and Cameron Mathison – for their creativity, hard work, and dedication.”

This stunning news is now churning the rumor mill with speculation that Mathison could return to his soap opera roots!

There Is An AMC Reboot In The Works

Would Mathison return to daytime? He starred as Ryan Lavery on ABC’s All My Children and that show has a reboot on the horizon. It is titled Pine Valley and Ryan Lavery would be a most welcome addition to the show in the eyes of millions of diehard fans.

Ryan was a major player in Pine Valley and there is still a lot of story to examine for the hunky playboy.

Would Cameron Mathison Become EJ On Days Of Our Lives?

Then again, Mathison would be a perfect fit for the character of EJ DiMera on the NBC soap Days of our Lives. Show star Thaao Penghlis (Tony DiMera) recently spilled the news that the show is planning to bring the character back to Salem in the form of a recast.

EJ is a legacy character and he is married to show heroine Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney). Mathison would fit right in as the hunky EJ, and he would be a dream pairing with fellow daytime vet Sweeney.
