One Life To Live Spoilers – AMC Fans Are Excited

Fans of soap operas are thrilled about the news surrounding Lifetime’s potential revival of All My Children; but what about other canceled favorites like One Life To Live and Another World? Keep reading to discover the possibilities of these shows returning to our screens.

The idea of characters coming back from the dead is a hallmark of soap operas, making the current discussions about All My Children’s revival feel especially appropriate.

The show, along with One Life To Live, was axed in 2011 to make way for an afternoon talk show and a cooking series, neither of which enjoyed much success.

Although both briefly returned online, they struggled to find footing in a time when streaming was still gaining traction, and even then one had to watch on a computer.

Iconic actress Susan Lucci, known for her role as Erica Kane for 40 years, almost appeared on General Hospital, but that didn’t come to fruition. On a brighter note, fans recently saw Walt Willey reprise his role as Jackson Montgomery, adding a touch of nostalgia to the soap landscape.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, both former stars of All My Children, hinted at a reboot back in 2020, but the project never materialized.

While they currently co-host the talk show Live With Kelly & Mark, they always cherish their soap opera beginnings; their love story blossomed on the set of All My Children.

Now, Lifetime is making moves to revive the soap with a series of TV movies, including one set during the Christmas season; it’s uncertain whether Susan Lucci will reprise her role.

One Life To Live was also on ABC’s chopping block due to budget cuts and last aired in 2012; it also was part of the project and followed All My Children.

Prior to the early streaming project, called “TOLN” or “The Online Network” three of the One Life To Live actors migrated to General Hospital.

They were John McBain, played by Michael Easton, Todd Manning, played by Roger Howarth, and Starr Manning, played by Kristen Alderson.

Characters Tea Delgado, played by Florencia Lozano and Blair Manning played by Kassie DePaiva also appeared until the production company that owned The Online Network sued, and they left General Hospital.

They returned several months later as Silas Clay (Michael Easton) Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) and Kiki Jerome (Kristen Alderson, later replaced by Hayley Erin).

OLTL Spoilers: What About Other Beloved Soaps?

Soap enthusiasts continue to grieve the loss of beloved canceled series such as NBC’s Another World, Guiding Light, and CBS’s As The World Turns. Currently, CBS features two ongoing soap operas: The Young & The Restless and The Bold & The Beautiful.

Excitingly, a new soap is set to debut early next year, increasing the total number of active soap operas to four. This includes ABC’s General Hospital and Days of Our Lives, which transitioned from NBC to Peacock in 2022.

If The Gates and Lifetime’s revival of All My Children perform well ratings-wise, the network might explore the possibility of reviving other canceled soaps in a movie format as well.

If U remember correctly, All My Children & One Life
To Live were pre-empted Indefinitely due to the
live broadcast of the O.J. Simpson trial. It was after
that, the station needed to find other programming
to fill that (daily) time slot because the big-wigs
figured out they were able to make money without
    soup operas.
