ITV Coronation Street spoilers and updates reveal that the soap is set to restart filming next week with a multitude of new measures in place to address coronavirus concerns.
John Whiston is the managing director of continuing drama for ITV and he told Lorraine Kelly that Coronation Street is ready to roll tape as it has adequately implemented a variety of ways it to address ongoing safety issues in light of the continuing pandemic.

The managing director said that social distancing rules will be observed as well as a few other precautions.
For instance, there will be an initial ban on child actors because of the chaperones they require. Additionally face masks will be worn and a pole can be used available to prod actors who may unknowingly breach the six-foot rule!
So, what happens when it comes to romantic moments and intimate affairs? Apparently an abundance of imagination, as well as caution, is in order!
Coronation Street spoilers – ITV announced this week the soap is returning after more than two months on hiatus
Corrie is not the only show which had to halt production, the world’s film, and television industry has basically been shut down completely.
This stoppage occurred in March due to fears over the spread of the coronavirus.
John said that they are “determined” to not leave the air, “If we get back early next week, we will manage that,” he explained. This is in light of the fact that the airing of new shows had been cut in half, but some fans were still worried that new content would run out.

“We have been putting in all sorts of new protocols. We have got the two metre distance, which is going to be paramount,” he said. “We have got people with poles who will go around prodding actors to make sure they stay two metres away from each other and cameramen.”
He added, “Our production manager has got a retractable pole that they were given as a present. We have got perspex shields on the cameras. We have had to make a lot of this up ourselves because there are no real guidelines for it.”
The fans are no doubt grateful for the show taking the initiative as some countries, like the US, have shown seemingly no interest in returning to filming.

John went on in reference to love scenes, “I think it’s more like going back to the 1920s in Hollywood when two people went into a bedroom then you would see waves crashing on the sea, or fireworks going off. I think we will have to use our imaginations a bit.”
