The soap stopped filming on March 23 after the UK went into lockdown due to the global crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
At the current time, the iconic show is airing three shows a week in a bid to ration out original episodes.

But even with the cutback, the show could run out of original content at the beginning of July if the production hiatus is not ended soon.
Nonetheless, a production source told The Sun Online that the much-loved show, “has episodes to air past June.”
Corrie is the longest-running soap on British television. It debuted in 1960 and follows the daily lives of residents in the fictional town of Weatherfield.
Initially, the talk was that the show was so short on content that it would come to an end in a little over six weeks’ time.

Long-running soap site Eastieoaks claimed that after one episode aired last night, there’s only 20 left.
Like Emmerdale, Corrie stopped filming at the end of April, as they had no choice due to government mandates. However, if the soap does fall off of the radar, it may not be for long.

Coronation Street spoilers – Is Corrie set to resume filming June?
That’s because The Sun stated last week that Corrie will resume filming in June after execs came together to form a plan to ensure working conditions are safe.
A source said, “ITV is sure they’ve come up with a solution to keep everyone safe. Production is starting up again in June. Everyone will be adhering to social distancing and scenes will be filmed with smaller groups.”
“The teams will be able to film in certain ways which will minimize distancing. The scripting teams are working on creating storylines with fewer characters.”
As well as minimizing older cast members, actors may be tested for coronavirus on set. Maureen Lipman (Evelyn Plummer) told the Jewish News podcast, “I had a word with the producer last week online and I said: ‘Don’t ditch the oldies because the oldies are what Corrie is all about’. They said, ‘Oh no we’ve no intention of doing that.”
