Deleting Video Footage
Corrie spoilers reveal that during the week of June 1, Geoff will regain access to the home he shared with Yasmeen. Immediately, he goes to work to get rid of the evidence that would clear her and convict him. On his laptop, he locates the specific file and presses delete. Geoff mistakenly believes that the file is now gone forever.
Corrie Spoilers: Cloud Storage
There are a lot of different ways deleted files can be recovered. Newer technology has nearly everything we do on a computer sends a copy to our “cloud storage.” The younger generation is actually better at making sure certain files don’t get sent to “the cloud.”
However, someone Geoff’s age would be pretty much clueless in that department. He probably isn’t even aware that his laptop has a cloud drive. So, that’s one way the video footage could be recovered.
‘Delete’ Doesn’t Permanently Erase File
Coronation Street spoilers also reveal that anyone who watches crime documentaries knows that many felons have tried to delete computer files. However, they are almost always able to be recovered once police send it to the computer forensics lab. There, tech experts can find pretty much anything and everything you’ve done on a computer.
This includes files you have deleted. You see, there are fragments of those deleted files that remain in the computer’s memory somewhere. They sit and just wait to be found and pieced back together.
Coronation Street Spoilers: Cell Phone SpyCam App
Fans shouldn’t forget that if all else fails, Geoff can watch his spycams on his phone with a specific app. Now, we don’t think he can delete files remotely because he needed access to the laptop in order to get it done. But many apps have a “history” or “memory” feature.
Plus, sometimes you have to manually “sync” the devices together in order to completely update the system. So, if no sync is done, then that video footage might remain on Geoff’s phone and he might not even realize it.
Now, someone just needs to find out that Geoff has spycams in the house and look into finding the video of what exactly happened that night. Will it be Alya Nazir (Sair Khan), Tim Metcalfe (Jim Duttine), Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor), or maybe the defense will get a private eye on the case? Or will police actually do a full investigation once they realize Geoff isn’t as upfront as he claims? Because let’s face it, they did a pretty terrible job investigating the first time around.
