She has hope that they can help Oliver Battersby (Jeremiah and Emmanuel Cheetham). However, she downplays her son’s condition so the doctor will agree to treat Oliver. Corrie spoilers reveal that doctors tell Leanne that they are reducing Oliver’s sedation. They will also try to remove the boy’s breathing tube to see if his organs will work on their own. Leanne is full of hope, but Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) is cautious. Leanne gets a blow when the doctors inform her that the only thing keeping Oliver alive is life support. She has to think about pulling the plug.

Coronation Street spoilers reveal that Steve and Leanne talk to the German specialist. However, Steve isn’t happy that Leanne is downplaying their son’s condition during the video conference. Due to Leanne not being completely honest, the doctor decides that Oliver might be a good candidate.

Once the specialist finds out the whole truth about Oliver’s medical condition, it will change everything. Ignoring this fact, Leanne is only focusing on her son possibly getting another chance — even if it’s based on lies.

It is teased that Leanne could be getting her hopes up for nothing, especially if the specialist in Germany doesn’t have all the facts. No doctor is going to accept a patient and arrange for international transfer without looking at the official medical records. Once the doctor sees the extent of Oliver’s issues and that there is no hope of recovery, Leanne will be crushed.

It is also stated that when others try to reason with Leanne, she will lash out. Deep inside, Leanne knows that her son is gone. However, she can’t bring herself to accept that just yet. Hopefully, she doesn’t do anything dangerous or desperate to try and change his fate.
