Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that Roy leaves Carla and Nina worried as he continues to spend more time browsing on his smartphone.
In the previous episode of the longest-running soap, Roy (David Neilson) received a smartphone as a Christmas gift from Nina (Mollie Gallagher). At first, the man didn’t appreciate the present as he found the device not useful. As a result, he gave the brand-new phone to Sam (Jude Riordan). However, the table turned following Nina’s accident in the river.
It all started when Roy made his way for his bat meeting, and Brian (Peter Gunn), Nina, and Asha (Tanisha Gorey) planned to join him. When they received a text that the meeting had been canceled, they looked for Roy in the woods as they could no longer contact him. Nina started to worry when she saw the man’s flask in the river, thinking that Roy might have fallen into the water. As she tried to rescue her uncle, Nina slipped and fell into the water.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Roy Cropper Faces His Smartphone Most Of The Time
Following that scary incident, Roy felt sorry for his niece and realized the importance of the phone. As he conquered the digital world, the man always started his texts with “Dear Nina” and uses different emojis, including the eggplant emoji, which can have a double meaning.
After exploring the phone, Roy finally found it useful, especially in getting some important information, like the Roman fort excavation. Finding it interesting, he spends most of the time facing his phone waiting for its next update. As a result, Carla (Alison King) approaches Nina and tells her about Roy’s addiction to the device.
Can Nina find ways to divert Roy’s attention? Will Roy realize that he has been addicted to the smartphone?
Coronation Street Spoilers – Iain MacLeod Reveals Roy Cropper’s Addiction Storyline
Previously, the “Coronation Street’s” producer teased that the iconic Roy Cropper will face addiction in Weatherfield. It was also for his love of Nina as to why he accepted and embraced the use of phones. “On the back of this, Roy decides Nina is right and he does need a mobile phone,” Iain MacLeod told Metro.co.uk.
“It’s a classic ‘Corrie’ story about Roy and mobile phone addictions. Roy’s not going to be posting TikTok videos or anything like that. Although, now I say that out loud, it feels like a missed opportunity,” he continued.
