Coronation Street Spoilers: Samia Returns To Set For Filming As Maria Connor

Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon has recently let fans in on her return to the set of the soap opera. Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria Connor, has come back to the set of Corrie after the soap opera resumed filming after taking a three-month break due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The actress went to her social media to post a picture of her returning back to her dressing room. In the picture, she was in her dressing room with her hair and make-up done about to film once again.

In her post on Instagram, she wrote, “Felt good being back in Maria’s ‘trim up north’ uniform yesterday… @coronationstreet (if only I could book myself in for a color n cut #backtowork #coronationstreet #maria #hairdresser.” She soon received a reply from her husband, who commented on the post saying, “Great make up babe! And your straight hair looks amazing!!”

The actress revealed that she had been getting help from her husband when it came to her hair as he had been straightening it for her. She also received another comment from her co-star, Ryan Thomas, who plays the role of Jason Grimshaw. He shared his excitement about Maria’s return back to the set by commenting, “Go on Maria!!” along with an emoji of a heart.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Trouble Ahead For Maria Connor And Gary Windass

During the lockdown, Samia had been spending time with her four-year son and her 10-year-old daughter. She has also been sharing some pictures of her spending time with her family during the quarantine. Now that she is returned to set, she will be picking up the role of Maira once again. As of right now, Maira is engaged to Gary Windass, played by Mikey North, and is preparing for their wedding which will take place this year.

On the other hand, Gary has some dark secrets that are threatening to come out into the light in upcoming episodes. This may interfere with his wedding plans. One of the secrets that he is keeping is that he had killed the loan shark, Rick Neelan last year.

Rick Neelan’s daughter has recently popped back up in cobbles and found herself in trouble. This has caused Gary to come to her defense numerous times. However, with him helping Kelly, played by Millie Gibson, he has made a few of his enemies suspicious of him, and his secret may be exposed.

Mikey North revealed that the storyline had been put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “Honestly, we had some huge stuff planned. What we had in the pipeline was going to be a culmination of the last year of Gary’s life and possibly the final chapter of this story. A lot was due to be filmed on location and I have everything crossed as the scripts were just fantastic. I was really excited to do it!”
