Leanne (Jane Danson), together with partner Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and son Simon (Alex Bain), recently left Weatherfield to escape from the wrath of the drug dealer Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) after betraying him in working with the police. The villain Harvey was recently arrested, but before he was hauled, he swore to go after Leanne to take revenge for blowing the whistle.
Coronation Street Spoilers – A Blast From the Past
Since Leanne’s departure, a familiar face from the past re-emerged at the Cobbles. Sharon Bentley (Tracie Bennett) has returned to take part in Harvey’s, her nephew, revenge plans.
The character has been long gone for 22 years since she originally appeared between 1982 and 1984. She returned but was also last seen in 1999.
“Coronation Street” producer Iain MacLeod revealed earlier this year that someone from Rita’s past would be connected in the drug storyline of Leanne.

“The thing that’s exciting me the most is the Leanne story. I think it’s incredibly exciting. It will also draw in Rita at a certain point–and there’ll be a blast from the past for Rita that emerges as a result of the story,” he previously explained.
The actress explained she was first approached about returning about 18 months ago, but her work schedule and the pandemic have hindered her from coming back sooner.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be returning to the cobbles. It is a dream come true for me, I had such an amazing time there and I am looking forward to working with Barbara again and getting my teeth into the storylines they have planned for Sharon,” Tracie said.
There has been a huge gap between Sharon and her foster mother Rita after she planned on selling the Kabin she gifted her, and they haven’t talked since then. Sharon reprised her character as someone who has been nominated for a Golden Heart Award for her fostering. Rita believed she deserved a second chance and accepted her in open arms, but her step-sister, Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) wasn’t fully convinced.https://twitter.com/SoapOperaSpy/status/1385952408652636170

Coronation Street Spoilers – No Secret Can Be Hidden Forever
Sharon is back to shake things up in the Cobbles next week. Simon risky visits Peter Barlow in the hospital and gives him the address of their hideout without telling his parents.
However, the couple is being watched by some of Harvey’s baddies in the hospital. When Peter (Chris Gascoyne) is discharged and leaves with his wife Carla (Alison King) he didn’t hesitate to share the address with her.
Sharon pretends to drop off flowers for Peter and secretly snatches Carla’s phone to search for the address. After successfully getting it, she slips back the phone in Carla’s bag and leaves.
With Sharon knowing the crucial information, she will call one of Harvey’s heavies to confront the hiding family and for Harvey to head off there.
