Coronation Street spoilers hint that there will be tension for Nick Tilsley, Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson), and Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson). This will happen when Oliver is rushed to the hospital upon having another seizure. In the upcoming episodes of Coronation Street, Oliver will be taken to the intensive care unit when his seizure begins to become more severe and frequent.

In the upcoming episodes, Oliver Battersby’s (Emmanuel & Jeremiah Cheetham) loved ones will be told just how serious his condition is, and it seems it may be more serious than they previously thought. Oliver’s father was told beforehand that Oliver’s seizure was nothing to worry about and might have even been a one-off. However, soon the doctors who will see Oliver may think that he might have mitochondrial disease.
On the other hand, his family will not know for sure if that is what it is and will have to wait longer for a firm diagnosis. It seems that, based on the spoilers, that Nick, Leanne, and Steve will all take this news differently, which will play a part in how they deal with the news.

While they wait near Oliver’s bedside at the hospital, both Leanne and Steve focus on trying to lift the mood by jokingly reminisce over their son’s early childhood memories. However, Nick will be shocked to see that the two of them are able to joke at a time like this and voices his opinions to the two. Mitochondrial disease is currently a life-limiting condition that does not have any kind of cure.
The soap producer, Iain MacLeod has commented on the topic saying, “When Steve and Leanne learn that their son has a life-limiting condition, we explore how that impacts their relationships with their other loved ones. Obviously, Steve and Leanne are not currently a couple, but this story will draw them closer and closer together – to the point where they are bonded more tightly than they’ve ever been.
The difficulty then for Nick, Tracy, and other people is that they start to feel slightly shut out from that little triangle of Steve, Leanne, and Oliver. It makes you the worst person in the world if you express that, so the difficulties for Tracy and Nick are to try and find the best way through for the person they love – while simultaneously feeling left out in the cold slightly.”
