Coronation Street Updates – Proving Geoff Metcalfe Abuses Women

Corrie spoilers reveal that Tim continues to defend his father, despite the red flags that keep popping up. His marriage is even suffering due to the couple having different opinions on Geoff and Yasmeen’s situation. According to TV Times, Duttine explained that Tim is gullible, but is not stupid. With that being said, don’t expect him to accept his father is an abuser until he is shown solid proof.

Turning On Dear Old Dad

The proof that Tim gets isn’t related to what happened with Yasmeen. It has to do with his own mother. It has been speculated for quite some time that Geoff’s abuse has a pattern. Abusers don’t abuse one woman and treat the others normally. Each relationship had some level of abuse and control. This includes Tim’s mother and it seems what really happened to her will be explored in the future. The truth will finally cause Tim to turn his back on Geoff.

Coronation Street spoilers reveal that even after the truth comes out, don’t expect Tim to support Yasmeen. Geoff might lose the support of his own son, but that doesn’t mean Tim switches sides. Duttine explained,

“I don’t think Tim will necessarily side and sympathize with Yasmeen because he’s not really that bothered about her, but if he finds out that his dad behaved like this with his mum, that’s a whole different story. I think he’ll distance himself from him, ultimately.”

Tim Metcalfe’s Indifference Is Concerning

Even though Tim isn’t that close to Yasmeen, we are surprised that he doesn’t sympathize with the victim. We understand him not necessarily switching sides and showing support for her. After all, they don’t have a tight-knit relationship. However, the fact that he is “not bothered” by Yasmeen’s horrific ordeal is a bit concerning.

He should have some empathy for what she went through. At the very least, he could be sympathetic. If he can’t feel for the victim of domestic abuse, then he could at least be disturbed by the injustice. A violent man lives free while his innocent victim is put on trial, imprisoned, and having her character assassinated. Perhaps Sally should reconsider who she is spending the rest of her life with.
