Fans know that Peter Barlow recently received the devastating news that he needs a liver transplant. His liver has been damaged because of his years of alcohol abuse. Unfortunately, there’s no guarantee that he’ll be eligible to get one. And even if he does get a liver transplant, there’s no guarantee that he’ll get a complete recovery. He told Carla about his current condition and promised her it won’t stop their wedding.

Unfortunately, the meeting ends in chaos when Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) brings up Carla’s infidelity and Daniel admits that he suspects Carla of cheating on Peter with Lucas Kempton (Glen Wallace). Later on, Peter will reveal that he wants to have a small wedding in a hotel and no family will be invited. Carla will then tell Tracy that she can’t come to the wedding.

Upcoming scenes on the big day this coming April 16 will show that Carla will ask Roy Cropper (David Neilson) if he can give her away at her wedding. Meanwhile, Peter’s condition will continue to worsen. Daniel suggests postponing the wedding but Peter will refuse. Instead, the latter tells Daniel to wear his suit and be his best man at the wedding. As they both head to the car, Peter stumbles, which causes Daniel to worry even more. He once again tells him to put his health first but Peter refuses.
The ceremony begins at the hotel and Peter and Carla exchange their wedding vows. Carla tells the registrar to speed things up because of Peter’s condition. Will they manage to complete the ceremony? Or will the day end in tragedy?
