Coronation Street Spoilers – Paula Wilcox Staying As Elaine Jones
Corrie spoilers reveal that during Yasmeen’s abuser storyline, Paula Wilcox was brought on to play Geoff’s first wife. It began as Elaine (Paula Wilcox) paying a surprise visit to Yasmeen in prison, using an alias and cover so Geoff wouldn’t find out. She tried to reach out to her son, Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine). Plus, Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) urged Elaine to testify at Yasmeen’s (Shelley King) trial. Even though Geoff (Ian Bartholomew) did send Elaine away, she was found alive.
Fans weren’t sure if she would be staying on the cobbles, but it turns out she will. In fact, she will be an important part of Yasmeen’s recovery.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Yasmeen Metcalfe’s Recovery
According to What’s On TV, we will see Yasmeen try to get her life back, but it won’t be easy. Just because Geoff is dead doesn’t mean the effects of the abuse magically disappear. The two women will form an “odd friendship” and Elaine will be there to help Yasmeen as she goes through the stages of recovery. But at the same time, Elaine is still very much affected by the abuse she endured all those decades ago. So, they will actually be helping each other. Fans who are looking for some lighthearted moments will get them. Producer Iain MacLeod said, “There will be an odd couple friendship, and thankfully for Yasmeen and for us, it will become quite humorous in places as we see these two survivors of Geoff rubbing along together and trying to make their way in the world as a little double act.”

Coronation Street Spoilers- Nobody Else Really Understands
Coronation Street spoilers reveal that Yasmeen always had the support of her granddaughter, Alya. However, nobody really understands what she went through except for a fellow survivor. Due to both women being married to Geoff, they know exactly what the other endured. It can be quite powerful to actually have someone that truly “gets it.”
Coronation Street Spoilers – Abuse Memories Will Surface
Even though fans can look forward to some lighthearted and humorous moments ahead, there will also be some haunting scenes. Geoff will appear a few times as Yasmeen has memories of the abuse. MacLeod explained that this is to reflect the real-world experiences of abuse survivors… that the effects don’t end when the abuse does.
“When someone escapes their abuser – whether that be through death or divorce or, in some cases people have to literally flee the country – you might think that’s the end, and in fact some people have said that to Yasmeen already. ‘It’s over, gran,’ said Alya. In fact, it’s not. The psychological impacts of what happens in these abusive relationships can last forever.”
