Coronation Street Spoilers: Yasmeen’s ‘Free’ In Prison – Geoff Exposed At Last Possible Moment

ITV Coronation Street updates and spoilers reveal that Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King) hasn’t told authorities about her husband’s abuse. But being in prison might actually help the grandmother. It keeps them apart, which means Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Barthomelew) can’t control or influence her mind. When the trial begins, could she have the strength and clarity of mind to expose Geoff’s abuse?

Coronation Street Spoilers – Yasmeen Metcalfe Denied Bail

Corrie spoilers previously teased Yasmeen would defend herself against her monstrous husband. She thought Geoff was dead, but he survived and accused Yasmeen of attempted murder. Yasmeen was in shock and possibly suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She was denied bail, but the bad news could have a silver lining.

Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) is trying to help Yasmeen. She begs her to tell the police about Geoff’s abuse. However, Yasmeen refuses, shuts down, then runs off before Alya can protest.

Discrediting The Innocent

Geoff has already laid the groundwork to discredit her before she even goes on the stand. He manipulated Yasmeen’s friends, neighbors, and co-workers. The authorities asked around, so those are more strikes against her. Alya was the only one who saw what was really going on.

Coronation Street Updates – Geoff Metcalfe

Coronation Street spoilers reveal Geoff calls the prison, but Metro reports that he won’t be able to talk to Yasmeen. He panics and doesn’t know if she’s already exposed him to police or not. He is desperate because he needs to continue gaslighting, manipulating, and controlling her.

If they spend too much time apart, then his psychological control weakens. He can’t risk Yasmeen telling anyone the truth or he could go to prison.

A Victim’s Courage

Even though Yasmeen is in a physical prison, she is “free.” She is away from Geoff’s cruelty and abuse. She might still be numb right now. But as she doesn’t have any contact with Geoff, his control will fade, and she will feel glimpses of the strong, independent woman she used to be. Eventually, Yasmeen could get the courage to report the abuse, but not anytime soon.

The storyline will reportedly last until late 2020. When she does drop the truth bomb, it will most likely be at the last possible moment… at the final part of her trial.

What do you think of Yasmeen being “free” in prison? Will the former couple having no contact weaken Geoff’s controlling grip? Will she eventually expose the abuse and if so, when and what will be the outcome?
