‘DWTS’ Alum Artem Chigvintsev Breaks Silence After DV Charges Dropped

Dancing With the Stars pro, Artem Chigvintsev didn’t have a good 2024 as he was not chosen to dance in Season 33. It also happened in 2019, and he was devastated. But this time around it’s so much worse as Nikki Bella is filing for divorce after his arrest for alleged domestic violence charges.

Nikki Bella Files for Divorce

Whatever happened in Napa when the couple celebrated their anniversary might never be known. She did not admit she was the victim. However, her rush to file for a divorce seems to suggest that she was. or at least, she considered herself a victim. Why else would she rush into severing her relationship so fast?

After all the drama of him calling the EMTs and then canceling the callout, the incident ended up with the Dancing With the Stars pro-dancer being arrested by the cops. Charged with a felony for domestic violence, things looked grim. However, the Napa County District Attorney declined to prosecute due to a lack of evidence to prove the assault happened “beyond reasonable doubt.”

Artem Chigvintsev Opens Up In A Statement 

The stance taken by Artem was not done in a podcast or on social media. Instead, the DWTS pro-dancer issued a formal statement which was carried by E! News. Unfortunately, it seems that any hopes of a reconciliation with Nikki Garcia should not be expected. 

Artem Chigvintsev said:

I am incredibly relieved and grateful that the domestic violence charges against me have been dropped. This has been an extremely difficult time for me. I am thankful that the truth has prevailed. [My son Matteo]  is my world, and being his father is the greatest blessing in my life. All along, my main concern has been for him. I am committed to continuing to provide him with the love, support, and care he needs as we move forward. I am hopeful that securing an equal custody arrangement will help us move on.

It did not take long for the statement by the DWTS pro-dancer to get discussed on Reddit. U/ ilovechococat wrote

• Attorney is claiming Nikki was the aggressor of the escalated incident.
• Okeyokey, we don’t know and will never know what happened, because we were not there with them. This might be my deformend lawyerbrain speaking and I’m not saying Artem didn’t do anything, but to just blindly believe one person, while completely discrediting another is a little shortsighted in my opinion.
• He called the cops because he said on the 911 call his wife was throwing shoes and screaming at him. So maybe he wants to expose that Nikki started it? Idk.
• Interesting. I definitely don’t think we’ll ever get the full story.
