A preview tease for the show’s off-network debut shows that fans will not see big changes. It is still larger than life, some might say unabashedly cheesy, but full of smiles and laughs.

Daniella Karagach, the reigning champ, is seen as are other fan faves such as Cheryl Burke, Brandon Armstrong, Pasha Pashkov, and Witney Carson. Would they be featured if they weren’t on the show?

Other familiar faces include hostess with the mostess, Tyra Banks. This time she has a sidekick, former champion and Alfonso Ribeiro is the show’s guest-host. For those tired of Tyra’s antics, perhaps this will eliminate what has been called her self-focused way of hosting the show. Others love her exuberant me-ness, so hopefully the right balance is struck.

Disney owns the show and some fans wonder if the parent company will try and do product placement, ie, blatant advertising, via the dance vehicle. It’s a reality folks, companies want to capitalize one brand off another, so expect some corporate tie-ins here and there.

Then again hardcore Disney fans love it when the show features Mouse House songs, costumes, and themes. So there will probably be a Disney Week down the road, and even their Star Wars and Marvel franchises might come into play.

DWTS 31 will premiere on Disney+ on September 19, that much we know. What we still don’t know is who will be competing. In the past the show has been careful to balance out the cast with a variety of face, talents and abilities, not to mention controversy–remember Sean Spicer and the Carol Baskin?
