Dancing With The Stars: Artem Chigvintsev’s Shocking Arrest

Dancing With The Stars fans were shocked when news broke of fan fave Artem Chigvintsev‘s arrest Thursday morning.  According to reports, the DWTS pro spent the morning behind bars on domestic violence charges.  Keep reading for all the details.

Variety broke the news on August 29 and revealed, “Chigvintsev, 42, was booked into Napa County Jail on a felony domestic violence charge, penal code 273.5(a), which makes it “illegal to injure a spouse, cohabitant or fellow parent in an act of domestic violence.” His bail was posted at $25,000.”

Dancing With The Stars – Cast Member Arrested

Artem Chigvintsev hails from Russia and made his TV debut on Strictly Come Dancing.  In 2014 he joined the cast of Dancing With The Stars and competed along side twelve celebrities over the course of the past decade. 

In Season 25 Artem was paired up with WWE star Nikki Bella.  Nikki and Artem only placed 7th on Dancing With The Stars, but began dating and went on to get married in 2022.  

There have been rumors on Dancing With The Stars message boards that there was trouble in paradise at the Chigvintsev House recently. 

It’s believed that the domestic violence charges were involving his wife Nikki (Bella) Garcia, but there has been no confirmation of that from either party.  So far the Napa County Police Dept. has not released any official details surrounding the incident, or what exactly happened.

Artem Chigvintsev – Off Dancing With The Stars?

Interestingly, Dancing With The Stars is set to return to ABC next month, but for the first time in several years Artem Chigvintsev was missing from the line-up. 

General consensus on social media is the network seen the writing on the wall and knew the pro dancer was having issues and would be a publicity nightmare this season.
