Dancing With The Stars – Co-Host Julianne Hough Plans Sizzling Summer

Julianne Hough feels eager to enjoy life a year after finalizing her divorce from Brooks Laich. “I’m ready for friends and travel,” said the Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) co-host. “And I guess that is a ‘hot girl summer.’ I don’t know,” admitted Hough to Page Six.

However, as the DWTS co-host mingled at the American Ballet Theatre’s June Gala, she denied any rumors about a new romance. And the 34-year-old dancer just giggled and responded “no!” to any such gossip. Julianne and Brooks made their divorce final two years after revealing their split. And in a united announcement, the former spouses asked for privacy.

“We have lovingly and carefully taken the time we have needed to arrive at our decision to separate,” said Hough and Laich in their statement. The former couple “share an abundance of love and respect for one another.” And they plan “to lead with our hearts from that place. We kindly request your compassion and respect for our privacy moving forward.”

DWTS – Co-Host Julianne Hough Makes Major Move

But Julianne made a big change amid her divorce. And she packed her bags to move from Los Angeles to New York City. However, the risk paid off. And the DWTS co-host gushed, “Everything is so accessible at any moment.” For Hough, New York City feels “full of possibilities and dreams and connection. And you can think really big here,” she added. “It just feels like there’s more ability that you’re going to meet somebody or connect with somebody that has similar like-mindedness or complete opposite and can challenge you.”

Julianne Hough – Dishes On Her Dancing Passion

The Dancing With The Stars co-host shared that she enjoys “the people [and] the culture” in her new city. “I love that every day I feel more a part of the world,” added Julianne. “And I love LA, too. But it just feels different.”

However, one aspect of Manhattan doesn’t meet with Hough’s approval: The stinky odors in the summer. But she pointed out that life involves “give-and-take.” And Julianne noted, “You pay for certain things [and] compromise on other things. Yes, the smell’s not very good.”

But Hough will need to return to Los Angeles this autumn. That season marks the beginning of her co-hosting responsibilities with Alfonso Ribeiro on Dancing With The Stars. However, the show already feels like home to Julianne. She has appeared as a professional dancer as well as a judge on DWTS.

But Hough shared that at one point, she considered a different career path. And she recalled living in London and getting an offer “to go to the Royal Ballet.” However, Julianne “chose to stay in my performing arts school so that I could be a little more versatile, develop dancing, do acting and singing. At the time it was a very, very hard decision,” she admitted.
