Dancing With The Stars FIRST Spinoff Gets Summer Premiere Date

Dancing With The Stars’ reigning Mirror Ball Trophy winner Robert Irwin will be back on ABC primetime this summer, and hosting the reality dance competition’s very first spinoff. 

It’s amazing DWTS waited 34 seasons to finally expand the franchise and fans have high hopes for the new show, The Next Pro.

With the series premiere right around the corner, here’s everything we know about the Dancing With The Stars’ spinoff.

The Next Pro Gets July Premiere Date

ABC has confirmed that Dancing With The Stars: The Next Pro will debut in July.  The competition will air for eight weeks, and the finale will most likely coincide with the Season 35 Fall premiere. 

The spinoff’s official premiere date is listed in the network’s press release as Monday, July 16 2025.

Robert Irwin is becoming a mainstay on the show.  The late Steve Irwin’s son won the Season 34 competition, paired up with fan fave Witney Carson. 

Robert will be back this summer as the host of The Next Pro, and his pro partner Witney is also scheduled to appear alongside him in a few of the episodes.  

The Next Pro – Everything We Know

According to press releases from ABC, the new Dancing With The Stars spinoff will focus on the pro dancers rather than celebrities. 

Contestants will live together while they are competing every week for a coveted spot as a pro dancer in Season 35. 

TV spoilers say Mark and Shirley Ballas are also slated to appear on the new show as judges, and they will help choose the next member of the DWTS troupe. 

Whichever talented dancer is crowned the show’s next pro will return to the stage in the Fall to be paired up with a celebrity and compete for the Season 35 Mirror Ball Trophy.
