Dancing With The Stars Spoilers – Gets Ready To Change
From the judges to the co-hosts, Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) will face changes for the upcoming season. But DWTS host Alfonso Ribeiro embraces all those changes. And Ribeiro feels especially enthusiastic about Dancing With The Stars making a return to ABC, he told ET.
“It’s fantastic,” gushed Alfonso. “I think some people look at last season as a failure. And I look at it completely opposite, right? We were actually so much of a success on Disney+ that ABC was like, ‘No, no, no, no, no, no, we want that back. We didn’t realize how good this was to us.’ It’s really a win-win for everyone.”
Ribeiro also welcomed Julianne Hough as his new Dancing With The Stars co-host. Julianne replaces Tyra Banks, who left after three seasons that saw DWTS fans unite with criticism. However, Alfonso denied rumors that DWTS fired Tyra. And he described her as making her own decision to quit the dance competition.

Dancing With The Stars Spoilers – Alfonso Ribeiro Shades Tyra Banks, Cheers Julianne Hough
But the Dancing With The Stars host managed to throw some subtle shade at Tyra in discussing her departure. And after Ribeiro claimed that the DWTS team felt “sad to see Tyra go,” he then gushed on and on about his chemistry with Julianne. Alfonso described himself as “very excited” about Hough replacing Banks.
“Our chemistry, I think, is going to be fantastic. We’ve known each other for so long. She was a judge on my season,” noted Ribeiro. And because Hough competed as a DWTS professional as well as a judge, Alfonso feels their teamwork seems “so right.” The two lunched together for more than two hours to discuss their future.
“And I think that kind of chemistry and friendship is going to come through on the show to the audience,” added Ribeiro. Because both he and Julianne competed on Dancing With The Stars, he feels their experience enhances their skills as host. But Alfonso also hinted at a return to the dance floor. And he teased, “Funny enough, Julianne and I might end up dancing a little bit. That might happen.” DWTS pro Emma Slater “has been taking me into the dance studio twice a week” to practice some dance steps, added Ribeiro.
