Derek Hough has won a record six mirrorballs on the hit show Dancing with the Stars but a seventh is not out of the question apparently. Will the handsome and talented dancer come back to thrill his loyal fans on the ABC celebrity ballroom competition?

When asked during an Extra TV interview if he would return to Dancing with the Stars he said, “We’ll see. I don’t know. Who knows, who knows, man? I was on that show for 17 seasons and it was so special and it pretty much launched my career, so I’m incredibly thankful for it.”

He left the show four years ago so maybe he’s having second thoughts?

Dancing With The Stars Spoilers – Derek Hough Has Reportedly Been Contacted About Returning To The Show

It is interesting that Hough’s comments come after sources revealed some very intriguing news to the Daily Mail. According to the source, Derek was recently approached by the show about his possible return to DWTS. What did he say? That was not revealed!

The source said, “Derek has already been asked if he is interested in coming back to Dancing With The Stars,” according to the insider who spoke to the publication in July.

The source, who appears to be knowledgeable about the situation, went on to say that the show’s producers have always enjoyed working with the personable celeb. Additionally, it was noted that his fellow celebrities trust Derek and that he has a huge group of fans who would absolutely love to see the talented hoofer back under the spotlights.

Will Derek Hough Return To The Show That Made Him Famous?

Fans of the star will take his comments to mean that he is seriously considering a return. And Hough might have thrown fuel on the fire by saying he was stunned by the out of the blue replacement of longtime host Tom Bergeron with model Tyra Banks.

He said that Bergeron was a “staple” of the dance show, but he is being humble. Hough himself is inextricably linked to Dancing with the Stars. From 2007 to 2016 the Emmy winning dancer competed in the dance-off nearly 20 times. He also has the record for mirrorball trophies.

He said of the host change, “Everybody is trying to switch things up, reinvigorate, do certain things… so you understand,” and he wished Banks, “the absolute best.”
