Bonnie was the pursuer but Justin kept pushing her away. That is, until they kissed at the end of 2020. However, getting the people of Salem to accept Justin and Bonnie would be a challenge for the couple.

In 2021, the unlikeliest of all people approved of Bonnie: Steve “Patch” Johnson (Stephen Nichols). Not only did Steve approve of Bonnie despite everything she did to Adrienne Kiriakis (also played by Evans), he believed in her innocence during the Calista Lockhart (Cady Huffman) murder investigation.

2) Doug Williams’ Possession

Some might say that Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) possession is the most shocking storyline of 2021. However, due to the storyline’s popularity 27 years ago, it was bound to happen again. What was more surprising was that Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) didn’t have dementia, but was possessed by the devil before going into Marlena. It was a move that fans did not expect, that’s for sure!

3) Nicole Walker And Xander Cook

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) has slept with pretty much everyone in Salem. However, there is one man that she has always hated, which just happens to be Xander Cook (Paul Telfer). So, imagine everyone’s surprise when Nicole and Xander had a one-night stand! What made this even worse is that at the time, Nicole was married to former priest Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan), who was in the Congo serving villagers in need.

4) Impersonating Sarah Horton

One of the most shocking storylines in 2021 involved Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk). Kristen managed to convince Susan Banks (also played by Haiduk) to switch places with her. Kristen’s goal was to pretend to be Susan to keep Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) away from Brady Black (Eric Martsolf). However, Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) became a problem. Despite the height difference and not even sounding the same, Kristen fooled everyone into thinking she was Sarah.

5) ‘MarDevil’ Resurrects The Dead

Another one of the most shocking Days of Our Lives storylines in 2021 involved “MarDevil.” The dead tend to rise in Salem, but it is usually because of Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay). For Halloween, though, the devil brought back three characters from the dead just for one night. Charlie Dale (Mike Manning), Deimos Kiriakis (Vincent Irizarry) and Nick Fallon (Blake Berris). Just as quickly as the dead terrorized Salem, they dropped and disappeared into thin air.
