5 Ways ‘Days Of Our Lives’ Writers Can Boost DOOL Ratings

NBC Days of Our Lives has been seeing more fans tuning out than tuning in, which means that the beloved NBC soap is in desperate need of a rating turn around.

Here are five ways the writers can make that happen.

#1 Continue Making Eve Donovan The Resident Villainess

While Eve Donovon (Kassie DePaiva) is certainly a lot of things to a lot of different people, if there’s one thing she excels at, it’s being very manipulative. After all, she managed to get Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) to marry her so she could become the Queen of Salem before her entire world came crashing down. DOOL writers should continue making Eve the resident villainess because we could sure use more than wickedness and Southern twang of her’s.

#2 More Lust Than Love

Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) is not meant to be domesticated. Sure, he might love Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) more than his pretty face in the mirror, but fans want to see more lust than the love between them. This watered-down version of Salem’s bad boy certainly isn’t fun to watch anymore.

#3 Bring Back Hope Brady

Yes, actress Kristian Alfonso has decided to leave Days of Our Lives after almost 37 years on the show, but that doesn’t mean Hope Brady should leave with her. There’s still so much of Hope’s story to tell. Bring back Hope Brady, even if it is with a recast. Plus, there’s only one police chief commissioner who can run a town as corrupt as Salem as she does.

#4 Kristen DiMera Is Missing From The Equation

Speaking of villains, Salem sure does have a lot of them, but if there’s one person that is missing from the equation, it’s most definitely Kristen DiMera. (Stacy Haiduk) No one does a madwoman as well as Kristen. After all, this is the same woman who ran around Salem with a Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) mask on in the hopes that Brady Black would fall in love with her. And wouldn’t you know, it worked!

#5 A Double Take On Stefan DiMera

While there’s no doubt that actor Brandon Barash has been killing it as both Stefan DiMera and Jake Lambert on Days of Our Lives, there’s no way that he can be in one place at the same time as two different people, right? It would certainly be a great idea if writers decided to give Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) an eyeful by bringing on both Stefan and Jake at the same time. Hey, we hear Tyler Christopher is available!
