Breaking: Days of Our Lives News Update: Kristian Alfonso Out At DOOL, Hope Brady Leaving Salem

NBC Days of Our Lives actress Kristian Alfonso (Hope Brady) has been on the NBC soap for nearly four decades. While there have been rumors of her leaving before, those always turned out to be just that — rumors. But this time, it happens to be true and the actress has released a statement. She has already filmed her final episode as Hope Brady. Read her statement right here.

Hope Brady’s Journey

The DOOL fan-favorite joined the soap in 1983 and at that time, she was known as Hope Williams. Then, she got married and changed her name to Hope Brady. She had children, including one who died. She was also a police detective, commissioner, and had many huge storylines.

Alfonso did have two temporary breaks from the show, but would always return. It seems that she really is leaving for good this time.

DOOL Star Issues Statement

According to Deadline, Alfonso feels honored and blessed to be on the soap for so many years. She explained, “I feel blessed and honored to have been invited into people’s homes for over three decades. However, it is now time for me to write my next chapter.”

The fan-favorite added “I will not be returning to Days when it resumes production in September. I’ve already filmed my last episode several months ago.”

Production Resumes In September

As we previously reported, Days of Our Lives is planning to restart production on September 1, 2020. While there will be safety protocols that could change the way stories are told and how filming is done, there are other changes too.

The soap has struggled with an extremely low budget for years. The last renewal slashed their budget even further. It is speculated that is why many-core actors are leaving. Budget cuts mean expenses have to be sliced somewhere and paying actors is probably one of the biggest expenses.

Now, the COVID-19 safety measures will increase costs by an estimated 20 percent, which could hurt the soap even more.

Days of Our Lives: Will She Leave With Rafe Hernandez?

It has been hinted that Hope and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) might reignite their spark. As fans recall, “Rope” didn’t quite work out. But now, things seem to be different and they might actually have a chance together. Gering’s final episode will air in September, it is indicated. Could Rafe and Hope leave Salem together? We will have to keep watching to find out.
