Days of Our Lives Spoilers Update – Ben Weston Responds To An Ad For A Mechanic
Ben Weston responds to an ad for a mechanic at a garage and comes upon the shop owner laying under a car working on it and tries to get his attention. The shop owner obviously is overwhelmed trying to run the shop and keep the repairs up as well and is a little testy as Ben continues to tell him he’s there to apply for the job. Finally, he rolls out and Ben is stunned to see how much he looks like his old friend and employer, the late Stefan Octavius DiMera (Brandon Barash).
The man remarks that Ben looks like he’s seen a ghost, and maybe he tells him he thought he had and tells him about Stefan. The man tells him he doesn’t know who that is and tells him his name is Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash). Ben and he get a little better acquainted, and he’s curious about why he looks like a twin to Ben’s old boss as well. He doesn’t know of any Sam Maitlin, either, when Ben asks him and tells him about Stefan’s adopted name and when and where he grew up in an orphanage.
They’re both a bit stunned. Chances are though, Jake is so desperate for another mechanic he will hire Ben, so they can get to know each other even better! Jake doesn’t care about anything Ben does, has done, or can do except fix cars! So Ben starts working right away, and the car repairs eventually get caught up!

Ben talks to Ciara and several others around Salem, telling him his new boss, Jake Lambert looks EXACTLY like Stefan, but he knows nothing about Stefan or Sam Maitlin, and Ben and several others can’t help but wonder if maybe Stefan had an identical twin separated from him at birth.
Stefan had arrived in Salem on the arm of his mother Vivian Alamain (then Louise Sorel) at the Black Tie Affair put on by Abigail DiMera (Kate Mansi) at what then was called “Doug’s Place”, since rebranded and renamed “Julie’ Place”. Neither Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) or Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) who was still alive at the time knew anything about Stefano DIMera (Joseph Mascolo) having had any children with Vivian!
At one point, Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) and Holly Jonas (Scarlett and Harlow Mallory), as well as Chloe’s young son Parker Jonas (Christian Ganiere), has moved into the DiMera mansion with Stefan, who was protecting them from El Fideo’s (Andoni Gracia) men who had come to Doug’s Place where she was working at the time as hostess, and they became close; they bonded over having been in orphanages and foster homes.
However, in those conversations, nothing was ever mentioned by him about having a twin brother, and it was never completely explained how Stefan, who was the product of a one night stand in Monte Carlo, wound up in an orphanage where he was adopted by the Maitlin family and became Sam Maitlin, a corporate raider. Vivian never mentioned a twin either and Stefano never knew about Stefan until after Stefan died! It will be quite a mystery indeed as to why Jake looks so much like Stefan!
