Days of Our Lives Alison Sweeney Announces ‘Chronicle Mysteries’ Movies’ Premiere Dates

“Day of Our Lives” star Alison Sweeney, who plays Sami Brady on the soap, is keeping herself busy with the premieres of Hallmark Movies & Mysteries series “The Chronicle Mysteries”.

The first movie of the series, “The Chronicle Mysteries: Recovered” aired in the U.S. last February 17 and then in Canada on Sunday, April 7. The second and third installment, “The Chronicle Mysteries: The Wrong Man” and “The Chronicle Mysteries: Vines that Bind” premiered in the U.S. on February 24 and March 3, respectively. Viewers from Canada can watch the last two installments of the series on April 14 and April 21 at 9:00 PM on the Bravo channel.

The second film focuses on podcaster Alex McPherson (Sweeney) and her quest to uncover the truth about the mysterious death of a young lawyer, while her partner Drew (Benjamin Ayres) gets himself tangled up in a problematic shipping company. Meanwhile, the last movie revolves on Alex McPherson’s journey to prove that a death that was ruled an accident is, in fact, a murder.

There’s no denying that Sweeney is absolutely head over heels with this project. She’s a fan of true crime podcasts. Because of that, it is not surprising to know that she made guests appearances on different true crime podcasts and watched Forensic Files during the research phase of the series. She realized that working on a certain case puts one’s life in danger. That’s when the idea of creating a mystery series centered on a podcaster was born.

For this series, Sweeney worked with Linda Dano, a Daytime Royalty, who is best known for her role as Felicia Gallant on “Another World.” She also worked with other soap opera veterans on her other movies like Cameron Mathison on “Murder, She Baked,” as well as “Days of Our Lives” actor, Greg Vaughan on “Second Chances.”
