Days Of Our Lives Beyond Salem The Spinoff
Fans hoping for more action in Salem quickly discovered that show was set in Zurich, Miami, and New Orleans. Touted as a brand-new standalone miniseries, fans naturally fear that as it came with limited episodes, that it might just stop now. Well, it certainly delivered limited episodes, and only came along with five of them. Premiering on September 6, the finale dropped on September 10.
Days of Our Lives Beyond Salem featured Eileen Davidson as Kristen DiMera. Other current and old faces included Lisa Rinna as Billie Reed, Deidre Hall as Dr. Marlena Evans, Drake Hogestyn as John Black, and Jackée Harry as Paulina Price. Fans also saw Billy Flynn as Chad DiMera, Leann Hunley as Anna DiMera, and Thaao Penghlis as Tony DiMera. Of course, there were others, but one thing stands out. Almost anyone could come in and play different scenarios.
Days Of Our Lives Beyond Salem Season 2 Renewal?
The show brought a lot of travel and Cartermatt noted that “there is nothing about the premise of Beyond Salem that requires the same group of characters returns every single time.” In fact, the outlet speculates that “the producers could bring back a new combination of people for a separate story down the road.” Additionally, it’s not the sort of storyline that never really comes to a final conclusion like the DOOL soapies.
The possibility of a Days of Our Lives Beyond Salem Season 2 seems quite strong with Peacock streaming the show. Of course, the whole point of the streaming service aims at bringing in new viewers. So, potentially, Season 1 was almost a pilot for future spinoffs. Clearly, the storylines could change almost endlessly if NBC decides to take it further than a single season. However, at this time, the networks dropped no hint of more to come.
Days Of Our Lives Beyond Salem – Audience Voices Influence Demand
In the past, old characters have returned to various soapies. And sometimes, the audience prevailed to the point where the networks actually listened to them. A combination of ratings and audience pressure might just see the spinoff returning in the future. Mind you, Decider gave the show a fairly poor review. They noted, “The story itself seems like an episode of a bad ’70s spy show, with a silly plot about the jewels of the peacock (get it?) being spread all over the world.”
