Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that alum John de Lancie, who’s known for his role as Eugene Bradford in the soap, will reprise his iconic role as Q in the upcoming season of “Star Trek Picard.”

His return was announced during First Contact Day virtual global panels when he made a surprise appearance while series star Patrick Stewart was introducing the teaser trailer. During the panel, it was also revealed that the second season of the series will air in 2022 on Paramount + (formerly known as CBS All Access).

The 73-year-old actor said he was surprised when the “Picard” producers contacted him. He said he didn’t expect to receive an offer to play the role once again but said he’s “more than ready” and “looking forward to it.” There were no details revealed about the upcoming season’s plot. But Stewart hinted that Q will return on the heels of a tragedy involving the U.S.S Enterprise’s former captain.

DOOL Spoilers – Stewart Weighs In On Q’s Return

“Q’s arrival is, as it often was, utterly unexpected,” Stewart noted.

“But also comes at a shattering moment in the episode. And I do mean a shattering moment,” he added.

Jeri Ryan and Brent Spiner will also join the “Star Trek: Picard” Season 2. Back in January 2020, Stewart asked Whoopi Goldberg, who played Guinan on “The Next Generation,” to join the cast for the second season. However, there was no mention of her during Monday’s announcement. There was also no mention of Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis as to whether they would reprise their roles in the second season.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – De Lancie’s First Appearance As Q

De Lancie made his first appearance as Q in the pilot episode of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” back in 1987, where he made 7 more appearances. He reprised the role in a different “Star Trek” franchise including “Voyager” and “Deep Space Nine.” He also voiced the cartoon version of Q for the character’s brief appearance in an episode of the animated series “Star Trek: Lower Decks.”

DOOL Spoilers – De Lancie’s As DOOL’s Eugene Bradford

For avid Days of Our Lives fans, they would always associate de Lance with his character Eugene Bradford on the soap. He made his first appearance back in 1982 as a red herring suspect in the Salem Strangler case. He was eventually proven to be innocent and later on Eugene got involved with Trista Evans (Barbara Crampton).
