Days Of Our Lives Comings And Goings: Confirmed! New EJ Is Coming To Salem

Days of Our Lives comings and goings reveal the return of EJ DiMera after seven long years. However, he will have a new face as Dan Feuerriegel will take over the role and begin airing on June 9. That’s only a few short weeks away.

Feuerriegel is an Australian actor known for his roles on Spartacus: Blood and Sand, NCIS: LA, ChicagoFire, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Pacific Rim: Uprising. News of his casting leaked months ago but it’s now confirmed and we now know when we will see EJ in Salem again.

It was 2014 when James Scott left the role of EJ behind and the character was shot in the park. He seemingly died in Sami’s (Alison Sweeney) arms and his death prompted her to leave Salem. Eventually, she learned EJ was alive and he was the first of Dr. Rolf’s (Will Utay) victims…we mean patients…to receive that special treatment that brings dead people back to life.

When Sami found EJ in a Chicago warehouse in 2018, he had been badly injured in a fire and was a shell of his former self. She learned of a new treatment in Europe and moved there with him and her children to nurse him back to health. We recently learned EJ is very healthy now, but after being through so much, his personality has changed.

DOOL Spoilers – What EJ DiMera Is Returning To

We saw Sami call EJ this week and ask him to transfer millions into her bank account and he apparently did it. However, he has to be wondering what his wife has been up to that she needed all that money. We’re guessing he shows up in Salem to find out.

He’s bound to learn at some point that Sami cheated on him with Lucas (Bryan R. Dattilo), so it will feel like old times again when Sami spent years (and years) bouncing between the two men and giving birth to their children.

Sami says her marriage is not the same as it was before EJ was presumed dead, which is what led her to take solace with Lucas. She’s been trying to hang onto it and never wants EJ to know she slept with Lucas — twice — but that might not be in the cards now that Feuerriegel is taking over the role.
