It is not yet confirmed what role Strasser will be playing, but she could be a recast of Louise Sorel as Vivian Alamain. The 2017 rumor turned out that her friend Sorel was returning to Days. In addition, she posted a clue earlier this month about why she is “taking time out for a good reason.”
“#SuperBowl fans-hope your team wins! I have to focus on an awesome OPP that’s been passed to me-Don’t want to fumble or let the team down #Gratitude’s always a winning attitude! So THANKS!-I’m very GRATEFUL that you’ve always rooted for me! Taking time out for a good reason-TY:)

She also appeared in several other series, including “Knots Landing” in 1990 and “Passions” from 2000 to 2003. But Strasser is better known for her role as Dr. Christina Karras on “All My Children” where she first appeared in 1976, and as Dr. Dorian Lord on “One Life to Live” from 1975 to 2013. Her time in OLTL’s gave her four Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, one of which she won in 1982.
Her casting on “Days of Our Lives” reunites her with Days’ headwriter Ron Carlivati, who was also GH’s previous head writer.
