Days of Our Lives Comings And Goings: Judith Chapman Exits, Wraps Up Role as Diana

Diana Colville (Judith Chapman) appeared on the canvas on January 29, and now, Chapman has revealed that her character is leaving Salem.

In her Facebook post, Chapman wrote, “”OHH, JOHN, DARLING….You can’t possibly suspect me…???” POOR DIANA….ADIOIS DIANA…” along with a photo of herself facing John (Drake Hogestyn) who’s holding an evidence.

Her last airdate is not yet revealed, but considering that Days films six months ahead, it is possible that Diana will still be around until September. “Days of Our Lives” is yet to reveal the connection between Diana and Ted Laurent (Gilles Marini), so fans can expect more scenes with Diana.

Chapman previously played crafty Anjelica Deveraux on Days in 1980s, which she reprised briefly as a ghost in last year’s Halloween. When Chapman returned, she debuted as Diana, Leo’s (Greg Rikaart) mother. Diana was previously played by Genie Francis, who’s playing Laura on “General Hospital.”

The news that Chapman is leaving comes after Greg Rikaart confirmed that he has wrapped up with his role as Leo on Days. Diana made him believed that he’s John’s son, only to pop the bubble in last Tuesday’s episode. Of course, Leo was furious.

As fans are hoping that Rikaart is returning to “The Young and the Restless” as Kevin Fisher after his stint on Days, fans are also hoping Chapman is also heading to Genoa City, where she also played Rikaart’s onscreen mother, Gloria. They sure make a great mother and son duo, don’t you think?

A lot of storylines led by Mal Young, former head writer, are being reversed, starting off with the return of Doug Davidson as Paul Williams. Eric Braeden, who has been instrumental on Davidson’s return to “The Young and the Restless,” sent a message to Judith Chapman last December, saying that they miss her as Gloria.

“We miss you on Y&R! Why you ever left is a mystery…no longer! You are a wonderful actress & i wish you were back gracing is with your great performances! Yours eric,” Braeden wrote on Twitter.
