Days of Our Lives Comings and Goings: Thaao Penghlis and Leann Hunley Return To DOOL, Fans Rejoice!

The actors who play Tony and Anna DiMera are reprising their roles on Days of Our Lives at some time during March.

Good news for Days of Our Lives fans – Thaao Penghlis and Leann Hunley, the actors who played Tony and Anna DiMera, will be returning to the NBS soap at some time during March of this year.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers – Tony and Anna DiMera return to DOOL

Thaao Penghlis announced the good news about his and Leann Hunley’s return to Days of Our Lives in a tweet on February 21. Thaao wrote, “For over 30yrs a closeness developed out of trust & certainly love. We’re back in March. Thank u all for the support. #Days #NBC”

Many fans were obviously thrilled to hear the news, with several saying they hoped the couple was coming back on a more permanent basis. It was clear many fans had missed seeing them on Days of Our Lives.

Leann first starred in the role of Anna DiMera in 1982 and has reprised the role on several occasions over the years. While it is easy to believe Anna will be back on Days of Our Lives, Thaao’s character Tony has been dead since 2009, while Andre DiMera (Penghlis also played this dual role) died more recently in 2018. In March 2019, Penghlis was seen in both roles, when Marlena had a near-death experience and came across several familiar faces.
