.NBC Days of Our Lives actress Kristian Alfonso left the soap opera when Salem production shut down due to COVID-19. During quarantine, she decided not to return to the set, and her last filmed scenes as Hope Brady aired earlier this week. On Instagram, co-star Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady) shared an emotional goodbye and heartfelt message.

DOOL fans saw Hope’s final scenes air on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. Although some viewers complained that there was no closure or blasted the writers for a lackluster exit, there is a reason for this. Kristian never went back to the set, so no real exit story could be written or filmed.

As for Alison, she practically grew up before our eyes on the NBC soap opera. Even though many actors have come and go during the years, Kristian was a constant on the set for nearly 40 years. She watched Alison grow up and the two had many wonderful experiences together. So, it was quite emotional for Alison to say goodbye to her friend and co-star.

On Instagram, Alison shared a heartfelt message for her friend and co-star. She wrote,

“Today is my dear friend @kristianalfonso ‘s last air show as Hope on @nbcdays – words cannot express how grateful I am to have her as my friend. Kristian is such a talented and dedicated artist, a hard worker, a motivator, a listener, and a chocolate connoisseur. She’s a wonderful mom and a caring friend. I can’t wait to see what this incredible woman does next!!”

Alison included a slideshow of several photos with Kristian.

Days of Our Lives fans will never forget Kristian or her character, Hope Brady. She has been the central focus of so many interesting and intriguing storylines over the years. Her epic love story with Bo Brady (Peter Reckell), her son’s baby switch and death, and losing her husband right after discovering he was alive all this time. Then, there were her close relationships with children Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) and Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal). There was also her portrayal of Princess Gina von Amberg.
