Days Of Our Lives Comings & Goings: Rafe Hernandez Returning! Galen Gering’s Exit Explained

Days of Our Lives fans have been reeling over the multiple exit announcements from the cast. It seems that a few of them won’t be gone for long. Just one day after Camila Banus’ exit — and return — as Gabi Hernandez DiMera was announced, Galen Gering is also coming back. When production resumes in September, Rafe Hernandez will be among the remaining Salemites.

Several months ago, it was released that Galen was leaving DOOL in fall 2020. Then, it was confirmed just recently that he would last appear as Rafe Hernandez on August 28, 2020. It was the same day that Gabi would also be leaving Salem, indicating the Hernandez siblings were starting over somewhere new together. However, it seems that this is not the case at all!

Just yesterday, we reported that despite Gabi’s last scene airing on August 28, Corday Productions confirmed that the vengeful vixen would be back. It was announced that Camila Banus will be on set when production resumes on September 1. Well, she’s not the only one that is leaving, then coming right back.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Rafe Hernandez Is Returning, Too

Entertainment Weekly published a report confirming that when Days of Our Lives resumes production, that Galen will be on set. So, it appears that both Rafe and Gabi leaving Salem is just temporary. Now, whether this was all part of the planned storyline or if the actors quit, then changed their minds is not known

DOOL Spoilers –  What About Victoria Konefal?

One interesting thing to note is that Victoria Konefal is leaving to pursue other acting opportunities. However, co-star Robert Scott Wilson (Ben Weston) implied to Soap Opera Digest that Ciara Brady could return to Salem one day. In fact, he suggested it a few different times throughout the interview.

So, all these cast exit announcements… are they just a tease? Is this some sort of tactic to get publicity for the soap? Or perhaps the actors meant it when they gave notice, but perhaps had a change of heart later on? We’ll probably never know the answer to that, but we are glad that at least a few of the actors are coming back. Keep tuned for more updates on casting as the information becomes available.
