Days Of Our Lives Entering New Fresh Chapter Filled With “Familiar Faces” Resurfacing

Days of Our Lives spoilers note that while former Head Writer, Ron Carlivati, exited in July 2024 and was replaced by Jeanne Marie Ford and Paula Cwikly; however, due to the soap’s filming schedule, it’s taken quite some time for their material to air.

In fact, a new chapter for the soap starts this week, as the content created by Ford and Cwikly will begin to unravel as of Thursday, April 24. So, what should fans expect?

Everyone Is Excited

Days Executive Producer Janet Drucker recently commented on the soap’s new era under Ford and Cwikly, telling TV Insider, “We are truly enthusiastic about how our vision is taking shape and can’t wait to share it with our fans, old and new.”

She also stated that Salem would be moving toward core family dynamics, adding that the soap plans to reintroduce beloved DOOL characters of old.

While Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) and Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) recently returned (and then exited) for quick storylines, Drucker promises that as the show’s 60th celebration arc is approaching come November, fans can expect to see them, among other characters return, adding, “… more familiar faces will appear.”

It’s All About Balance

In addition to older faces, there will also be a balance between nostalgic characters, new ones introduced, as well as recasting familiar characters. Alice Halsey will bring a new spin to the Rachel Black character, taking the role on from Finley Rose Slater.

In other news, fans will see more of Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis), Tate Black (Leo Howard), and Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd) as they take center stage.

Plus, legacy character, Arianna Horton, will return SORASed and teenaged, as young actress Marissa Reyes debuts on the show in the weeks ahead and will be added into the teen scene mix.
