Sweeney, also known as Sami Brady in “Days of Our Lives,” debuted the first movie in her Hallmark Movies & Mysteries series “The Chronicle Mysteries: Recovered” in Canada on April 11. Fans were ecstatic as they also got to watch the last two movies in the series on Canada’s Bravo Channel last April 14 and April 21. “The Chronicle Mysteries” movies first premiered in the U.S.
The first installment, “The Chronicle Mysteries: Recovered” aired on February 17, the second “The Chronicle Mysteries: The Wrong Man” on February 24, and the third instalment “The Chronicle Mysteries: Vines that Bind” on March 03. “The Chronicle Mysteries” franchise is Sweeney’s second for Hallmark. The first one was “Murder She Baked,” which had five installments.
Sweeney was already a fan of “Days of Our Lives” even before she debuted on the soap. She has been portraying the role of Sami Brady under contract since 1993. During her stint in the NBC sudser, Sweeney has been nominated once for a Daytime Emmy Award, for Fan Voted Daytime Emmy Award, and four times for the Soap Opera Digest Awards.
She started doing commercials at the age of five and then appeared in an episode of “Tales from the Darkside” a few years later. She also appeared in the ABC sitcom “Family Man” and in “Brand New Life” as Christy McCray. Her other TV credits include “Fear Factor,” “Friends,” and “Las Vegas.”

She was also a co-host at the “Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon” from 2007 to 2010. She also hosted “The Biggest Loser” and joined “General Hospital” and worked behind the scenes as a director. Apart from being an actress and a host, Sweeney is also an author. She published her first novel, “The Star Attraction,” in May 2013. Her second book, “Scared Scriptless: A Novel,” was released the following year, in 2014.
