Days of Our Lives News: Camila Banus Reveals Real Reason She Came Back To DOOL

Days Of Our Lives cast member Camila Banus (Gabi Hernadez)is dishing the inside scoop on why she left and came back to the NBC sudser in what seemed like a span of two seconds. The show is like a revolving door these days with comings and goings taking place, and big names attached to those entrances and exits.

Ironically Banus’ exit from Days of Our Lives was announced and before we could absorb it her return was announced. What gives? Banus talked to Soaps.com about the turnaround and we have her story here.

She started off by saying, “You all know I worked really hard last year on Days, I was pretty featured and to be honest with you, there were a couple of reasons that I came to the conclusion of needing to take a break. For me, any time I leave the show, it’s never felt like it’s a definite thing. It’s always been something like I need some space from this partner.”

“I didn’t know for how long, but I knew that I wanted to have my pilot season open and available for any opportunity that might present itself.”

As we know now, 2020 was not what anyone expected and this put a wrench into the actress’s hopes for landing a pilot. Good thing DOOL was still available.

DOOL Sppoilers – Camila Banus Left To Pursue A Pilot But Ended Coming Back To DOOL After All

For her part, the actress was quick to praise the show saying, “I’m happy and grateful I have a home at Days of our Lives. I have a home there that is not only the show but just the amazing people that make it happen.”
Coming back to the trough wasn’t a slam dunk, however. “It’s been back and forth,” she said. “We had been negotiating and we got it confirmed.”

Now that her pilot season has been 86’d, Banus is saying that her hope is that DOOL reps the Hernandez clan right because what is very important to her are having a Latinx family on daytime.

And, she herself wants to represent the Latinx community according to Banus, only not just in daytime. Does this mean she’ll make a run for it again when the opportunity presents itself?
