Days of Our Lives News: Daniel Cosgrove Lands New Primetime Gig

We’ve got good news for this Days of Our Lives alum! There are new reports that say actor Daniel Cosgrove (Aiden Jennings) will soon be returning to primetime television. He will be reprising his role as Danny Margolis on Billions. Here’s what you need to know.

In this episode, which is titled New Year’s Day, Wendy and Taylor are each prepping for their big days. Axe and Wendy’s bond will solidify as he recalls a pivotal moment for them. Also, Connerty will reconnect with a figure from his past. The episode is expected to air on Showtime on May 26, 2019.

The last time Daniel was on daytime television was back in 2016 but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been keeping busy lately. He’s starred in several different television series including the highly-rated The Blacklist, You, Elementary, Law & Order and so many more. He’s also been in Person of Interest, Unforgettable and The Good Wife.

In addition to his work on Days of Our Lives, Daniel is also known for his role as Scott Chandler on All My Children. Back in 2016, Daniel was very vocal about his frustrations over Aiden’s exit.

“When I first came on, I knew I wasn’t coming on in a front burner and hot story and that it was going to be slow, and that was fine,” Cosgrove told Soaps.com. “But my hope was over time they would spread the character out and it would evolve, but it didn’t really happen.” Part of the problem may have been what was going on behind the scenes, as Cosgrove notes, “I was on the show for a little over two years, and I will say there were three and a half different writing regimes.”

He also has his own ideas for what could have been done differently for his character. He further explained, “I wish that Aiden would have come on and told John that Bo was dead, and we worked together on that. Or that Bo already died off camera, and he [Aiden] was filling in the blanks for Hope as she hadn’t seen him for awhile, and that I was using it [Bo’s death] to get close to Hope. That would have caused suspicion and questions about ‘who is this guy. There was no story… there was the galas and the bake sales and nothing to sink your teeth into.”
