Not only did he lose both of his parents, but the family dog, Dodger, also passed away. Now, the family has opened their hearts and home to a new dog. It is stated that Brando was abused and like them, also needs his heart healed.

According to the DOOL alum’s wife, Kelly Moneymaker, the family has a new pet. They have opened up their hearts, as well as their home to a dog named Brando. Kelly wrote on social media,

“Dodger was such an amazing being, we’ve been heartbroken since his transition. This sweet boy has experienced a lot of abuse and needs his heart healed too, so we are a fantastic match! Please meet our new family member, Brando.”

Reckell and his family have suffered so much tragedy during the past year. First, the actor’s mother passed away. After that, his father inhaled his final breath. Then, it was revealed that the family dog, Dodger, ended up dying. It seems that it’s just been one tragic loss after another for Reckell and his family.

Days Of Our Lives – Opening Their Home and Hearts

It can be very traumatic to lose a family pet, especially since many people view them as members of the family. It can also be quite healing to bring another animal into the home. It sounds like Brando is going to help heal Reckell’s family as they struggle with broken hearts. Due to Brando having a history of being abused, it sounds like he has found a great home where he will be treated well and loved.

Reckell has a lot of fans on social media and many of them remember him from DOOL. He began playing the role of Bo Brady in 1983 and last appeared in 2016. He decided to return at one point to give the fans closure. He saved Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) from a newlywed death and she was thrilled to have her one true love back in her life. However, it would be short-lived as his hostage situation and torture left him with an inoperable brain tumor. He died just days later, right in Hope’s arms.

Although we are saddened by the multiple losses in Peter Reckell’s life, we are sure that he and Brando will help heal one another.
