Days Of Our Lives Recently Threw Some Shade On General Hospital Over Thanksgiving Traditions

There’s nothing more fun for soap fans than watching their favorite characters partake in annual traditions – it makes viewers feel more connected to the show and almost like a part of the family.

One interesting Thanksgiving tradition on General Hospital (GH) is how every year, despite good intentions, the wealthiest family in town – the Quartermaines – always end up ordering pizza takeout instead of having a turkey with all the fixings.

During the Tuesday, November 26 episode, Days of Our Lives (DOOL) poked a little fun by throwing some shade at both GH and the Qs.

Days Of Our Lives  Spoilers – DOOL’s Wally Kurth Not Only Plays Justin Kiriakis But Also GH’s Ned Quartermaine

American Thanksgiving takes place on Thursday, November 28, and Days spotlighted some families gathering and gearing up for their dinner on Tuesday’s show.

Unfortunately, because Bonnie Kiriakis (Judi Evans) gave a poisoned cupcake from the Body and Soul launch to the Kiriakis chef, he fell ill and couldn’t cook Thanksgiving dinner. Bonnie took a stab at making dinner and sadly failed miserably.

Justin Kiriakis was at Brady’s Pub that Tuesday morning, helping Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) hand out Thanksgiving dinners for those less fortunate in the community when he got the call from his wife, stating the family didn’t have a turkey dinner (or dessert for that matter).

Of course, the actor who plays Justin, Wally Kurth, also happens to play Ned Quartermaine on GH.

When Bonnie told Justin the pinch the Kiriakis family was in, with no turkey dinner and nowhere to get a full Thanksgiving meal, Justin suggested pizza takeout!

DOOL Spoilers – It Was All In Good Fun …

Of course, the look on Justin’s face as he suggested getting the Kiriakis clan pizza takeout for Thanksgiving, instead of doing a traditional turkey dinner, said it all. Wally and Days were cheeky about the whole thing, as Kurth plays double duty on both shows.

Bonnie was horrified at the very idea of having pizza on Thanksgiving, asking something along the lines of, “Who does that?” When Justin noted, “Some families do it,” with that charming smile Justin, Ned, and Wally flash all the time.

In the end, Kayla Johnson, played by Mary Beth Evans (who was also once on GH as Katherine Bell) heard the Kiriakis family’s plight of no turkey, and Justin’s suggestion, and absolutely refused the idea of the family ordering pizza, and invited them to the Brady’s Thanksgiving dinner at the pub.

Still, the moment Justin suggested pizza and a fuss was made about it, DOOL fans that also watch GH knew Justin (Wally) was poking a little fun at the other soap he works for, GH.
