NBC Days of our Lives spoilers tease that Alison Sweeney, who plays Sami Brady, will be back with the rest of the cast when production resumes in September. It is being reported that she is back for a long interlude, and that is good for fans as well as ratings. Is there anyone fans love to hate more in Salem than Sami?

She has had her nice moments, but overall her life is a train wreck. Including the fact that right now she is up to her old tricks, trying to control her loved one’s lives and railing against a man who treated her like his own daughter. Even if John Black (Drake Hogestyn) collapsed from an aneurism, that doesn’t disavow Sami from arguing with him at that very time. She said some very mean things to him that he didn’t deserve and it was vintage Samantha Gene Brady, i.e., mean, vindictive, and tone-deaf.

Here are three reasons that could explain why Sami Brady would want to stick around Salem.

#1 Sami Brady Sticks Around To Raise Her Grandson

The number one reason for Days Of Our Lives Sami Brady to stick around in Salem is to raise her precious new grandson. Right now she has him (heaven help him) because her daughter has run away after giving birth. If we track this reckless behavior backward, we come to Sami herself, which should be reason enough not to let her raise the child of the child she messed up. That’s not how the court sees it.

#2 Sami Brady Gets A Romantic Interest

If the show isn’t going to recast EJ DiMera, (James Scott) let Sami move on. That means finding a suitable love interest, someone who isn’t scared of her track record and disposition. There are plenty of eligible men in town, but it would be even better if the show injected fresh blood into the dating pool.

#3 Sami Brady Actually Wants To Make Amends

Could it be that Sami finally sees the light, the error of her harsh ways? She has done some awful things but never seems to learn from her mistakes. She admitted today that she is trying to get custody of her grandson in part because she loves him and in part because she just wants to win.

She has a lot of atoning for, and it just may be time for Sami to buckle down and get to fixing all the wrongs she’s committed over the years.
