Hope is an integral and core character and it would leave a major hole in the fabric of the cast if she leaves Salem for good. With that in mind here are five actresses that we think could take on the role and make it their own.
#1 Jessica Collins
Jessica Collins was last seen on daytime on The Young and Restless as Phyllis Newman’s (Michelle Stafford) little sister Avery Bailey Clark. Jessica portrayed Avery with a wide-eyed innocence as well as a spine of steel that perfectly matches the persona of Hope Brady.
#2 Susan Haskell
Don’t you think it’s time for Susan Haskell to return to the daytime? We do! She has the cred to take over the legacy role of Hope because she is an Emmy winner for her role as Marty Saybrook on One Life to Live. Her partner Thorsten Kaye is The Bold and the Beautiful’s Ridge Forrester and wouldn’t they have a lot more to talk about around the dinner table if she became Hope?

#3 Lesli Kay
Lesli Kay needs just one more role to cement her daytime diva-ness, don’t you think? Here’s why: She has starred on The Bold and the Beautiful, As the World Turns and General Hospital – we think it’s time she joins the only network, NBC, she hasn’t yet been on!
#4 Gina Tognoni
Gina Tognoni has been sorely missed by fans since leaving the role of Phyllis Newman on The Young and the Restless. To her credit, she has been recast before on Guiding Light and The Young and the Restless. Plus she’s also starred on One Life to Live and she is an Emmy award winner. Enough said?

#5 Kelly Sullivan
Kelly has the gravitas to play Hope, a mom, and a cop. We would love to see her back on the small screen and see how she would handle the crime in Salem as well as Hope’s numerous friendships. Isn’t it time for Hope to get a happily ever after? With a new Hope, it may be easier for fans to see her move on from Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) something that many have been reluctant to do.
