He told Nicole her and EJ DiMera’s (Dan Feurreriegel) baby died, but didn’t take into account she might want to say goodbye to her “dead” infant.

The shady doctor’s “employer” Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) didn’t think about that either, that a mother whose baby died after birth might want to see him.
Dr. Pierce needs to know how to proceed-she might also want to have a funeral and even worse, she might remember what her baby looked like.
Nicole may have been foggy on details that night, only holding her premature newborn for a few precious minutes, but will his little face be burned into her mind?
Pierce was paid handsomely for his ruse but now he wants a lot more money-to find a newly deceased premature infant to play the part!

DOOL Spoilers – This Is Going To Cost Sloan Peterson Brady
Melinda calls Sloan and tells her there’s a complication-and it’s going to cost her big time financially. Sloan’s already paid Melinda a lot of adoption money, which so far Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) hasn’t questioned, but now the shady doctor has to find a newly deceased baby boy.
The baby has to be premature and they’re taking a risk that Nicole may not buy the ruse, although at least EJ never met him.
What if Pierce can’t find a deceased preemie to play the part posthumously-no one wants to even consider the alternative!

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Excuses, Excuses
While Sloan and Melinda try to figure out where to get a newly deceased premature baby boy, since Pierce hasn’t known of one readily available, Nicole becomes more insistent.
There’s something strange about what happened to her baby after he died if the doctor can’t readily go to the hospital morgue to find him.
Anyone, even an infant who passes away in the hospital is kept in the hospital morgue, sometimes for autopsy, sometimes for family to claim.
With all the doctor’s stalling and excusing himself to “make some calls” Nicole becomes more and more suspicious. There isn’t even a death certificate showing a cause of death-and there’s not a birth certificate either!
