DOOL spoilers reveal that when Alex first came to Salem, he had an interesting dynamic with Victor. At the time, Victor wanted Alex to be devious and turn on Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker).
Even though Alex was great at being a spy for Victor, it caused a lot of problems afterward. It also caused a lot of friction between Alex and Sonny.
Now that Victor is dead and Alex is dealing with a paternity bombshell, could the patriarch have been testing the young man?

It is teased that Victor used to tell Alex that he had “killer instincts.” It was one of the things that made Victor feel bonded with Alex. However, Victor was a man of few words and many actions. So, very few people knew how Victor really felt.
What is interesting is that Vivian used the “killer instinct” statement to create a fake “connection” with Alex.
Of course, Alex noted that Victor used to say the same thing to him., Even though Alex still rejected Vivian’s proposal, that was before the paternity bombshell.
Plus, Vivian made this statement to get a hook in Alex. Even though Alex turned her down, Vivian knows things can happen that change people’s minds.

Alex might feel that he was lied to his whole life by the people he trusted. So, expect Vivian to use the daddy bomb to get her hooks into Alex once again. This time, Vivian might appear to be successful.

Alex specifically mentioned to Vivian that despite Anjelica Deveraux (last played by Morgan Fairchild) being his mother, Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers) and Bonnie Lockhart Kiriakis (Judi Evans) are still his family.
Then, Alex said he wasn’t a traitor and would not betray his loved ones. Sometimes when a character makes an “I’ll never” or “I’ll always” statement, the opposite ends up happening.
So, could Justin’s paternity bombshell push Alex to take Vivian’s offer? If so, expect Alex to come to his senses eventually.
Perhaps Alex will just have everyone thinking he’s switched sides, then hurls that “killer instinct” at the last minute.
