Days of our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that a familiar face is returning to the Salem-based sudser and fans will be delighted as it means a member of the Horton family is coming home. Roark Critchlow will reprise his character Dr. Mike Horton, and it has been over a decade since fans last the handsome and talented actor.

According to Roark, his first scenes were with the legendary onscreen and off-screen couple Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes who portray Doug and Julie Horton.

“I was nervous,” admitted the actor, noting that stepping back into the legacy role was like stepping back into a “heritage.” He added that he really enjoyed those scenes, “It was so genuine because they were both coming from a human place.”

DOOL Spoilers – Roark Critchlow Back As Mike Horton

How did the opportunity to come back to the show present itself? Roark says that the offer to return came out of the blue.

Roark said he will be back for a few episodes and when he was asked if he was interested he said, “Hell yeah. That sounds good.”

Mike was last in Salem for Alice Horton’s (Frances Reid) funeral in 2010. As he notes, at that time his character was involved in a car accident and ended up in the hospital! All of his scenes were shot in one day. This time around he will interact with Jennifer Devereaux (Cady McClain) and her husband Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford).

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – What Happens Next To The Hortons In Salem?

Longtime fans will wonder what Roark was up to since they last saw him, and he has been very busy! He notes that he has over 100 IMBd credits to his name. “The best part was Tom Marin in Pretty Little Liars,” he said. Ironically, he played the dad of another DOOL alum, Ashley Benson (Abigail).

The actor now lives in the Canadian mountain town of Summerland, British Columbia, where he was raised. He returned to take care of his mom and dad, and concluded his interview by saying that his DOOL return was a pleasant surprise, something fans are sure to agree with.
