Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) wakes her up asking what she was dreaming about. Kayla says it was just a dream. Kayla tells Justin she was dreaming about Steve. Justin still dreams about Adrienne Kiriakis (Judy Evans). Justin wanted to punch Steve for how he treated Kayla. Kayla looks at a photograph of herself with both Justin and Steve.

Days of Our Lives’ Stefano calls Princess Gina/Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) and Hattie Adams (Deidre Hall) overhears him mention plans for Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). Stefano wants Hattie to move out of the penthouse, she refuses. Stefano tells Hattie she could be in real danger if she stays at Marlena’s house. Stefano suggests Hattie stay with Kate at the pub. Hattie goes to pack her things. Hattie asks why he is wearing the patch again. Stefano says he doesn’t feel like Steve without the patch.

Stefano wants Marlena to come to breakfast so he can start courting her. Kayla arrives to speak to Steve. Kayla wants an explanation from Steve and isn’t leaving until she gets one. Kayla wants to know what happened so she can understand. Steve wants her hands off him. Kayla says it’s like someone took Steve’s soul. Kayla asks how Steve can just throw all their years of love away. Steve tells Kayla has changed. Steve tells Kayla he’s in love with another woman.

Days of Our Lives’ Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) joins Gina at her table. Kate tells Gina that the town is buzzing over her and Stefano’s appearance at the New Year’s Eve party. Kate and Gina argue about her and Stefano’s choices. Kate tells Gina they need to drop this obsession.

Gina says no one is going to stop Stefano from taking Marlena from John. Roman comes in as Kate is telling Gina to get out of the pub. Roman demands to know what is going on. Hope says she was trying to tell Kate her eggs weren’t cooked right. Hattie comes in and hugs Hope. Roman confronts Hope over her actions. Hope makes an excuse. Roman understands why Rafe is concerned about her. Hope says Rafe can’t accept that they are divorced. Roman apologizes to Hattie for Hope’s actions.

Days of Our Lives’ Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) wants to speak with Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) about Hope. Rafe tells Roman that Hope treats him differently. Roman thinks Rafe means because he offered Hope a place to stay. Rafe says it’s about the facts. Rafe tells Roman about issues with Hope at work. Roman asks if Rafe is building a case against Hope. Rafe isn’t happy about the argument in the crime scene.

Rafe isn’t documenting anything officially. Rafe is trying to figure out what is wrong with Hope. Rafe is trying to help Hope, not oust her as commissioner. Roman is stunned that Hope called Kate to a crime scene. Roman wonders why Rafe hasn’t talked to Hope about this. Rafe says Hope acts like she has something to hide. Roman promises to keep an eye on Hope. Roman agrees there is something going on. Rafe wants to make sure Hope is a priority. Roman tells Rafe that Steve is back and on the Stefano case. Gina fires Rafe.

Xander thinks they need to do something about Ciara. Victor says Ciara swore she had cut all ties to Ben. Xander tells Victor that Ciara is playing them. Xander tells Victor that Ciara believes they are responsible for Justin representing Ben.

Xander wants to get rid of Ciara. Xander says Ciara will expose them and everything they worked for will come tumbling down. Xander wants Ciara fired and kicked out of the mansion. Xander says he already tried to fire Ciara and Victor has to handle it. Victor says Ciara won’t side with Ben over the family. Victor says they have to be careful with Ciara. Victor forbids Xander to fire Ciara. Xander says Victor’s attachment to Ciara is affecting his judgment. Xander threatens Victor. Victor says Xander has just as much to lose as he does.

Ciara is going to find a way to prove that Ben is innocent. Ben tells Ciara they need a major wand right now. Ciara and Justin try to strategize. Ciara offers to testify in court. Ciara wants to wear a wire and try to get a confession. Ciara tells Justin she can make this happen, Victor would never do anything to hurt her. Victor demands to know why Ciara lied to him about seeing Ben.
