Days of Our Lives (DOOL) recap Monday, December 23, 2019, reveals Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) has set up the Christmas Tree. Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) comes in and finds a text from J.J. Deveraux (Casey Moss) saying he is out of town.

Days of Our Lives’ Abby Dimera (Kate Mansi) goes to visit J.J. at the hospital and demands to know why he didn’t tell anyone where he was. Abby tells J.J. that Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) told her where to find him. Abby tells J.J. his parents need to know what is going on. J.J. doesn’t want to ruin Jack and Jennifer’s honeymoon. Abby threatens to tell them if J.J. won’t.

Abby is proud of J.J. for calling his parents. Abby says this won’t be a big surprise because J.J. has been struggling for a while. J.J. says he fell apart. J.J. started taking pills after he lost Haley. Abby says those pain killers can be very addictive. Jennifer and Jack arrive and hug J.J. Jennifer knew something was off and apologizes for not knowing sooner. Jack says they are there for him. Abby tells J.J. they are grateful that he told them the truth. J.J. talks about trying to kill Kristen Dimera (Stacy Haiduk). J.J. tells them everything that has happened in the last few months. J.J. apologizes. J.J. is sorry he exists. Jack tells J.J. everything will be different from now on. Jack will be here for now and always. J.J. is afraid of the road ahead. Jennifer says this is their Christmas miracle.

DOOL Recap – Justin Kiriakis And Kayla Johnson Make Plans

Days of Our Lives’ Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) wants to change his and Kayla Johnson’s (Mary Beth Evans) dinner plans. Kayla gets a message from the ER and has to cut their conversation short. Justin tells Kayla she is one of the smartest, sexiest women he knows. Kayla wants to celebrate at their place.

Days Of Our Lives Recap Rafe Hernandez Breaks Up And Argument

Days of Our Lives’ Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) interrupts an argument between Kate Dimera (Lauren Koslow) and Hope Brady/Princess Gina (Kristian Alfonso). Hope lies and says she invited Kate to come over to discuss Stefano Dimera/Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols). Hope tells Rafe he misread the situation. Rafe asks Kate if she has been in touch with Stefano. Kate denies having any contact with Stefano. Rafe asks if she’s heard anything at the pub. Hope sends Rafe back to the station while she talks to Kate. Rafe leaves and Kate tells her Stefano wants to come back.

Hope tells Kate that Stefano can’t come back there because of the cops. Hope doesn’t have time to deal with Stefano, she has her own problems. Kate tells Hope that Marlena was concerned and she reassured her. Hope accuses Kate of being fake. Kate tells Hope she can bring her plan right to the ground. Hope goes to the station, Rafe asks if she slept there last night. Rafe offers to let Hope stay at his house. Rafe asks Hope about her flight to Hong Kong. Hope says she changed her mind about the trip. Rafe asks if Hope is ok. Hope says she’s fine, she is Rafe’s ex-wife. Rafe says he’s just offering her a place to crash. Rafe and Hope wish each other Merry Christmas.

DOOL – Abe Carver Thinks John Black Is Wrong

Days of Our Lives’ John Black (Drake Hogestyn) questions Abe Carver (James Reynolds) about his message dealing with Stefano. John and Abe try to figure out how Stefan is there but not there. John suggests plastic surgery. John doesn’t know how else Stefano could come back to Salem. Abe can’t see Stefano going through life with someone else’s face. John thinks Dr. Rolf (William Utay) left town and Stefano stayed behind. Abe asks what Hope thinks. John explains Hope moved out. John tells Abe how attached Hope was getting to him.

DOOL – Marlena Evans Feels Stefano DiMera’s Presence

Days of Our Lives Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) goes to visit Kate. Stefano considers revealing himself to Marlena. Stefano can’t let Marlena see him this way. Marlena walks in to check on Kate. Marlena wants to leave Kate a note but can’t find a pen. Stefano’s ring is on the desktop when Marlena starts to go to the desk. Justin arrives looking for Kate as well. Justin tells Marlena what Kate said to Kayla last night. Marlena suspects it is Kate’s career change that caused her to act this way.

Justin explains that Steve is a sensitive subject for Kayla. Justin is upset over everything Steve has done. Marlena knows the last year has been very hard. Marlena is glad Justin and Kayla have found each other. Marlena plans to leave Kate a note. Justin leaves. Marlena sees Stefano’s ring. Justin runs into Kate outside the pub and confronts her over Kayla. Kate arrives before Stefano can reveal himself. Marlena asks Kate why she has that ring. Kate explains she kept the ring after Andre Dimera (Thaao Penghlis) died. Marlena tells Kate about the flowers and why she’s worried about Stefano.

Kate tells Marlena that Hope grilled her about Stefano as well. Marlena asks Kate to forgive her. Marlena says she wanted to drop off Kate’s Christmas gift. Kate says she’s feeling guilty, Marlena asked why. Kate says because she doesn’t have a gift for Marlena. Marlena leaves telling Kate to get some rest. Stefano comes out and Kate confronts him. Stefano can hardly believe Marlena was just there. Marlena tells John about the ring in Kate’s room. John wants to focus on her.
